K-8 Physical Education teachers learned to integrate yoga into their classes at the California Physical Education Workshop (CPEW-2019). YoGo4Kids themes included LOVE, PEACE & JOY. Teachers partook in breathing techniques, a number of individual, partner & group poses, games and a time to rest and rejuvenate. We go step by step by step when we move into Airplane Pose (Warrior 3).
Start in Warrior 1 with your arms out like airplane wings. Lift your heart > Move your weight to your front foot and slowly move your your back foot off the mat > Hinge at the hips > Set your gaze > Add a smile!
Breathe In Breathe OUT
The Hoberman Sphere is used as a tool to show kids how our lungs expand and contract. We use our breath to both focus and relax.
Finding Balance!
When kids increase their balance and focus, they find a sense of success and accomplishment.
